Chelsea H. has finally outgrown her winning medium pony Callihan Rose. This year, Rosie is expecting a foal to Empire's Power and it should be a winner! Chelsea is now showing IBA Blue Diamond and has turned him into the ribbon winner Rosie was. Chelsea and "Deno" attended their first "A" show in the Green Larges and walked away with top ribbons out of seven entries at the December Classic. Deno was second in the hack at the VHSA Finals in Lexington this past November. Chelsea has started Deno as an Equitation mount and has won almost every Equitation class they have entered, earning scores of 83+.

Dana Gilbert and Spring Fling jumping around at Red Gate Farm. Don't they make a lovely pair??
Stephanie Traylor is one busy rider. In 2008, she's been winning on two horses; Sophisticated Lady and Above and Beyond. Sopisticated Lady, or Sophie, is Stephanie's Equitation and Adult Amateur Hunter. Above and Beyond, or Chips, is Stephanie's baby and he looks to have the scope and ability to be a winner at the A's. In 2009, Stephanie will continue to compete her lovely Thoroughbred mare Sophisticated Lady in the Hunters, as well as Equitation. Chips will be shown in the local Green Hunters with plans to move up to the Pre-Greens shortly. UPDATE: Stephanie and Sophie put in a lovely trip in the A/A Hunter Stakes class at the VHSA Finals in Lexington and got to jog with the big boys! Caitlin M. and Above and Beyond also got to jog in the Special Hunters!

Kaitlyn H. came to Locke Meadows in March of 2007 not knowing her diagonals or even having an idea what a lead was. With hard work and dedication, Kaitlyn started winning about everything under the sun in Pony Pleasure and Short Stirrup. By early September, Kaitlyn and Hershey were jumping true 3' courses. Unfortunately, she outgrew her medium pony and needed something bigger. Kaitlyn ended up with a young, unbroken, large pony mare. Kaitlyn started Daisy under saddle in November of 2007. In 2009, they moved up to the Green Pony Hunter Division and have won almost every class they entered. These two are the team to beat!

Eryn Dixon on E's Jet
Eryn D. putting in a winning trip at Oak Hill Equestrian Center on July 21. After winning a Championship in Pleasure, Eryn continued her success over fences. This was also her first show doing  2'9".
Eryn D. and her outstanding Paint gelding E's Jet are working their way to the top. Less than a year ago, Jet was just learning the ropes over fences. With a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, these two are on fire!! At their first Short Circuit show, Eryn won top ribbons out of 11 entries in the Children's Hunter. One week later, she moved up to the 2'9" division at Oak Hill, putting in two outstanding trips, and then WON the VHSA Child/Adult Equitation at 2'9". It is simply amazing how far this team has come!!
Bryan Adams has only shown once in 2009, but it was worth his time. With the help of professional handler Charlie Brown, Locke Meadows LLC's Sinsational brought home the blue ribbon in the Other Than Thoroughbred Foal class at The 2009 Upperville Colt and Horse Show.  Congratulations to Charlie and Bryan for doing such a fantastic job handling our horses!!
Dana Gilbert is starting off the 2008 show season with a bang. Her super-star mare Spring Fling is becoming the show horse Dana always knew she would be. They have already won countless ribbons in the Hunter and Equitation divisions this year and are getting better and better by the day! Their first show over fences was at Oak Hill were they were Reserve Champion of a full division. Way to go Dana! We're so pround!!
Dawn Hendricks has clearly become an asset to the Locke Meadow's Show Team. Although Dawn only began riding in June of 2007, her dedication and enthusiasm set a stellar example for everyone. She is riding Locke Meadow's Oldenburg mare Silver Masterpiece. In July of 2007, Dawn and Maggie were showing Pre-Beginner. By September, they had moved up to Long Stirrup. December 13th, they showed at 2'6" for the first time and were Champion in the Green Hunters. Dawn had no plans of chasing points in 2008 since she was so new to showing, but in August, she realized she was Top 6 with the VHSA in Adult Equitation. After that, she started showing in Eq consistently and was 1st or 2nd every time out. In October, Dawn and Maggie started schooling 3' courses and moved up to 3'6" during the first week of November; making it look easy. All I can say is WOW!!

Larry showing off Private Diamonds at the 2009 Upperville Colt and Horse Show.  They were 1st Reserve out of 13 entries.
Larry Hendricks purchased the beautiful Private Diamonds from Locke Meadows LLC in 2007 as a present for his wife, Dawn. He saw potential in the young Swedish Warmblood/TB cross filly and thought she would be the ideal show horse for his family. Although he had never shown before, Larry began working "Dede" in-hand and made their show ring debut at the 2008 Upperville Colt and Horse Show were they earned a 7th place out of 12 of the top Two-Year-Old Fillies in the Country. Congratulations Larry!
Connie Urbauch and her lovely Paint mare Freedom are just beginning their new adventure into the world of showing. Freedom was a successful Jumper before starting her Hunter career. Connie is a re-rider who has always dreamed of showing. This pair just keeps improving and they have recently moved up to the Adult Amateur Hunters, as well as Equitation, putting in beautiful trip after beautiful trip.

Trainer Rachael Adams has made a few appearances in the show ring in 2009 with Silver Masterpiece. They have shown several times and have already earned a few clean sweeps. 2008 was Rachael's first year back in the saddle after a 7 year hiatus from the show ring. She's been schooling greenies on the flat and over fences and is having the time of her life. Rachael and Maggie won ribbons at the 2008 VHSA Finals in Lexington!!
