Olivia Wymer purchased Flashy Girl through Locke Meadows and this pair is quickly making their way to the top. Flashy is a 9yo, 16.2 1/4H Thoroughbred mare that is a show horse deluxe! This horse wins everywhere she goes, and now she is winning for Olivia. At their first show together over fences, Flashy and Olivia were Reserve Champion out of 7 entries. We can't wait for them to continue their success!! Congratulations Olivia and keep up the hard work!!

Connie Urbauch and her lovely Paint mare Freedom are just beginning their new adventure into the world of showing. Freedom was a successful Jumper before starting her Hunter career. Connie is a re-rider who has always dreamed of showing. This pair just keeps improving and they have recently moved up to the Adult Amateur Hunters, as well as Equitation, putting in beautiful trip after beautiful trip. Watch for Connie's daughter Hailey, as she is giving her mom a run for her money in terms of winning at shows. If one of them isn't showing Freedom, the other is.

Locke Meadow's Show Team
The 2007 show season is proving to be a wonderful adventure for Lauren Myers and her talented Thoroughbred gelding, Ken's Vice. This pair has won almost every Equitation class entered this year and they have won multiple Championships in the Adult Amateur Hunters against some of the toughest A/A Hunters in the area. In May, Lauren and Jake moved up to the 3'6" Hunters and won top ribbons their first time out. You would never know that when they first arrived at our farm, Lauren would rather put her horse away than jump a 2' course. It is truly unreal how far they have come. Congratulations to Lauren and Jake on their move up to the 3'6" divisions. They won the blue ribbon out of 9 entires in Adult Equitation their first time out at this height! Don't they look great?
Dawn Hendricks and Silver Masterpiece show off in the Adult Amateur Division at Sandstone Farm on May 4, 2008. They earned a second place out of 10 entires!

Chelsea H. and her very fancy pony mare Callihan Rose are having another great year. When they first began training with Locke Meadows in the Summer of 2005, Chelsea and Rosie were just learning how to jump 18". Rosie has now won numerous Championships against some of the top ponies in the region. As of the end of August 2007, this pair has earned ten "perfect" scores in the Pony Hunters which puts them #1 in points with the Virginia Horse Shows Association Associate Program. They also have 10 perfect scores in Pony Pleasure.  This year, Chelsea is also riding a 4yo large pony that was bred and raised by Locke Meadows. He already has multiple Championships to his name in the Green Pony Hunters. UPDATE: Chelsea won great ribbons on both ponies at the 2007 VHSA Championship, both under saddle and over fences. What a wonderful year for such a great kid and her two super-star ponies!!

Stephanie Traylor is one busy rider. In 2007, she's been winning on two horses; Sophisticated Lady and Above and Beyond. Sopisticated Lady, or Sophie, is Stephanie's Equitation and Adult Amateur Hunter. Above and Beyond, or Chips, is Stephanie's baby and he looks to have the scope and ability to be a winner at the A's. In 2008, Stephanie will continue to compete her lovely Thoroughbred mare Sophisticated Lady in the Hunters, as well as Equitation. Chips will be shown in the local Green Hunters with plans to move up to the Pre-Greens shortly. UPDATE: Stephanie and Sophie put in a lovely trip in the A/A Hunters at the 2007 VHSA Finals and got to jog for their ribbon!! Way To Go You Two!!

Kaitlyn H came to Locke Meadows in March of 2007 not knowing her diagonals or even having a correct position. With hard work and dedication, Kaitlyn started winning everything under the sun including a clean sweep of the Pony Pleasure division out of 13 entries at a Short Circuit show, as well as countless blue ribbons in Pre-Beginner, Short Stirrup, and Small/Medium Pony Hunters! Unfortunately, Kaitlyn went through a major growth spurt and outgrew her saint-of-a-pony My Hershey Kiss. Kaitlyn is now on a 6yo large pony that is new to showing, but seems to have the disposition and the talent to go all the way. Only time will tell, but I have no doubt this will be the team to beat shortly.

Ribbons anyone?
Eryn Dixon on E's Jet
Eryn Dixon putting in a winning trip at Oak Hill Equestrian Center on July 21. After winning a Championship in Pleasure, Eryn continued her success over fences. This was also her first show doing  2'9".
Eryn Dixon and her outstanding Paint gelding E's Jet are working their way to the top. Less than a year ago, Jet was just learning the ropes over fences. With a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, these two are on fire!! At their first Short Circuit show, Eryn won top ribbons out of 11 entries in the Children's Hunter. One week later, she moved up to the 2'9" division at Oak Hill, putting in two outstanding trips, and then WON the VHSA Child/Adult Equitation at 2'9". It is simply amazing how far this team has come!!
Bryan Adams has only shown one time in 2007, but it was worth his time. With the help of professional handler Charlie Brown, Locke Meadows LLC's Silver Masterpiece brought home the blue ribbon in the Other Than Thoroughbred Broodmare class at The Upperville Colt and Horse Show. Charlie and Bryan turned around and pulled a 2nd place in an extremely competitive Other Than Thoroughbred Foal class with her beautiful filly Scandalous. Congratulations to Charlie and Bryan for doing such a fantastic job handling our horses!!
Dana Gilbert is starting off the 2007 show season with a bang. At her first show, she won the Equitation over fences and under saddle out of a full division with her sister's mare Mousetrap. Although the mare has primarily been a Jumper, she is learning the ropes for the Hunters and looks to be a fabulous Equitation mount. At their next show, they earned a clean sweep in their Hunter Division. Keep an eye out on these two.

Dawn Hendricks is clearly becoming an asset to the Locke Meadow's Show Team. Although Dawn only began riding horses in May of 2007, her dedication and enthusiasm set a stellar example for everyone. She is riding Locke Meadow's Oldenburg mare Silver Masterpiece. At their first show, they were Reserve Champion out of 11 entires with two seconds and a first. At their second show, Dawn and Maggie laid down three perfect trips and were rewarded with a clean sweep of the Division out of 6 entires. Since December of 2007, they are now doing the Green Hunter Horse and Working Hunter Divisions (with great ribbons!).
Caitlin Miller is the newest addition to the Locke Meadow's show team. Although she had never taken a riding lesson in her life until June of this year, she looks to have what it takes to become a star. Her young gelding My Jedi Knight has helped her earn numerous ribbons on the flat and over fences. Now, she is moving up to her mom's horse Obvious and Pure, who is a pretty mover with a "10" jump. Although green, Obvi has the talent needed to win on our tough local circuit. Obvi showed that he truly wants to be a show horse by putting in winning trip after winning trip. Just wait, it gets even better!
